Miracle on Main Street returns Saturday

Festivals Fredonia's annual "Miracle on Main Street" festival is set for Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Come celebrate all of the "miracles" of the holiday season in downtown Fredonia. Santa and Mrs. Claus come to town on this special day with activities and fun times for kids and the whole family including caroling, the official village holiday tree lighting with refreshments, food vendors, craft vendors, wineries, a free movie at the 1891 Opera House, gingerbread decorating sponsored by The Cakery (fee) at the Fredonia United Methodist Church, donut decorating provided by Tim Horton's, basket raffle, “Red Kettle Campaign”, shopping and much more. It will be a fun, family festival!
The "miracles" throughout the day include:
The Miracle of SHARING (Salvation Army "Red Kettle" campaign; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
The Miracle of THE HOLIDAY (Santa lighting the tree; 6:30 p.m.)
The Miracle of GIVING (Festivals Fredonia annual "Community Give Back" recipient - SonShine Charitable Fund)
The Miracle of GENEROSITY (All of those who generously support Festivals Fredonia throughout the year and during this special festival)
The Miracle of LIFE (ConnectLife community blood drive at the Fredonia Family Church; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
The festival and events kick off at 10 a.m. with activities throughout the village, Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59, Fredonia First Methodist Church, Fredonia Family Church, Next Chapter Bookstore, The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center, Darwin R. Barker Library and Fredonia Grange No. 1. There will be story time with Santa for youngsters at Barker Library, story time with Mrs. Claus at the Next Chapter Bookstore (12 Park Place).
Craft vendors and kid's craft time will be set up in the Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59 starting at 10 a.m.; visits with Santa will take place 2-4 p.m. Festivals Fredonia is hosting a basket raffle in Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59 as well; proceeds to go towards the annual "Community Give Back" program. Additionally, there will be a "Santa's little helper" costume and coloring contest throughout the day. Be sure to register for the "Santa's little helper" at A Spot & A Spell / Lady of the Lake (52 W Main St), and winners to be announced at 3:30 p.m.. Additional vendors will be located at the Fredonia Grange No. 1 presented by Lady of the Lake.
There will also be food vendors, wineries, as well as family friendly menus at Domus Fare. Santa will also be visiting Domus Fare from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Opera House will be showing "The Polar Express" at 4 p.m., sponsored by the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The movie will be followed by the lighting of the official holiday tree by Santa at Darwin R. Barker Museum.
Santa ends his visit at 4 p.m. at the Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59, but returns at 6 p.m., arriving in Darwin R. Barker Museum shortly after to light the official holiday tree. Immediately following the lighting of the tree, Festivals Fredonia's annual give back donation will be presented to SonShine Charitable Fund at the museum. Come on out and kick off the holiday season.
