The United Senior Citizens met April 14 at the Falcon Club, Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk to enjoy food, camaraderie and a few bingo games afterward.

United Senior Citizens is one of many senior organizations in Chautauqua County that fills a need for senior citizens — 55 and older — to enjoy lunch while enhancing nurturing socialization with other seniors.

President Evonne Hennebery and Linda Riley get busy checking people in, pick table numbers for attendees to get in line for their deliciously prepared buffet lunches and start the group with the Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America and the invocation.

Happy Birthday wishes were sung to Ed McClenathan and Ann McIntyre and the membership welcomed new member, Pat Vazquez, and Mary Matteson’s guest, Susan Hillman.

A few trips were announced by senior group travel facilitator, Robin Carr. On Tuesday, June 10, adventurers will take a Niagara Scenic Coach to the beautiful Finger Lakes region to enjoy a Seneca Lake cruise, Watkins Glen/ Montour Falls and Wilson Farms 350-acre non-hormone beef farm. On Wednesday, June 11, there will be a Dunkirk pick-up to set sail aboard the Lady Caroline in Cleveland. The lunch cruise and Cleveland Aquarium with a return stop at Mitchel’s Ice Cream is $169 per person. Contact Carr at 716-230-4081 to reserve your limited seating.

On Thursday, June 5, Dunkirk Seniors are promoting “Slots & Shops” trip to Erie, Pa. Cost is $60 and you can contact Nancy at 716-366-7530 for information.

On Thursday, July 17, Dunkirk Seniors presents Fallsview Casino including The Menopause The Musical. Attendees are reminded they need to have a Real I.D. or passport to travel to Canada. Cost is $89 and includes $35 slot play. Contact Nancy at 716-366-7530.

The next meeting for the United Senior Citizens is Monday. Lunch will consist of roast beef, pulled chicken, au gratin potatoes, tossed salad and asparagus. The cost is $15.
