The Cinema Series continues at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center with screenings of “The Naked Gun,” starring Liam Neeson, Saturday, Sept. 13, and Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. The Tuesday night screening will be shown with captions visible on the screen.

In this second iteration of “The Naked Gun,” Lieutenant Frank Drebin, Jr. (Neeson) becomes a police officer like his legendary father and must save the police department from shutting down by solving a case.

The Boston Globe calls the film “fall-out-of-your-seat-and-roll-on-the-floor hilarious.” The Detroit News calls it “a fresh, fun and uproariously funny laugh riot.” The Vanity Fair calls it “a dumb, loopy delight, a return to the kind of comedy that was woefully taken for granted in its heyday and now barely exists at all.” Rated PG-13 for violence/bloody images, crude/sexual material, and brief partial nudity, “The Naked Gun” runs one hour, 25 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member. The Opera House Cinema Series is generously sponsored by Lake Shore Bank.
