Sinclairville Library announces coming events
— Family Night — Leaf Painting on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. An artistic practice that uses real leaves to create unique designs and artwork. Paint (acrylic) is applied to the surface of a leaf, typically the underside to capture the texture of the veins. The leaf is then pressed onto paper to create a detailed impression. All materials provided. Ages 3 and up. Parent/Caregiver must stay with child.
— Annual Book Sale — Thursday, Oct. from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A $5 bag sale on Saturday. All proceeds benefit the library and is hosted by the Ways & Means Committee. No donations are being taken at this time. Cash-only sale. Small presale during normal open hours.
— Poetry Class and Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. Join John Brantingham, professor emeritus of creative writing, for a free poetry class and workshop. Brantingham will help you write poetry and publish it in magazines. Students have published in The New Yorker, McSweeneys, and The Paris Review among other places. The class is free.
— Poetry Reading with Poet Sarah Freligh on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. Program is presented by Brantingham. Open to the community.
The library will be open normal hours on Monday, Oct. 14. Enjoy some time at the library on this upcoming Columbus Day and Indigenous People’s Day. Makerspace and LEGO STEM will be available.
