April events set at Anderson-Lee Library
Create a Button Bouquet at Anderson-Lee Library on Tuesday, April 14 at 5:30 p.m. In addition, Master Gardener Cynthia Carlson will present "Getting Ready to Garden: The Down and Dirty of Soil Preparation, Mulch, and Garden Beds," on Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m.
SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, at 43 Main St., has announced programming for the month of April. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program. Join us for special activities during the first week in April for school vacation!
— Sand and Surf, Saturday at 11:30 a.m., for ages 9 and older. Create a lovely sunset scene to decorate your room or gift it away! Please register.
Spring Baby Animals, Tuesday, April 7 at 1 p.m. Come visit the baby animals of — Sun-Dance-Kids Farm. Always a popular event! Please pre-register to attend.
Family Storytime with Miss Amy, Thursday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. Families of all ages are welcome to attend this special storytime. Pre-registration is required to ensure enough seating and materials for all.
— Drop in Lego Club, Thursday, April 9 from 1to 3 p.m. The Legos will be out and you get to stop in anytime during the stated hours to create to your hearts content! No registration necessary and all ages are welcome.
— Vote for your favorite Duck during Children’s Book Week! Stop in anytime the library is open April 6, 7, 9, and 10 to vote for one of the ducks decorated as a favorite book character. The creator of the duck with the most votes will win the grand prize, a large duck Squishmallow!
— Getting Ready to Garden: The Down and Dirty of Soil Preparation, Mulch, and Garden Beds, Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m. Join us as Master Gardener Cynthia Carlson presents this program on soil health. Learn how to encourage microbial life, increase fertility, and protect your garden beds as well as different ways to create garden beds that support soil health. Please bring a few cups of soil from your gardens in a baggie or Tupperware to do a few kinds of soil tests during the workshop. Preregistration is requested to ensure enough seating for all who wish to attend.
— Family Bingo Night, Tuesday, April 21 at 6 p.m. This Bluey themed bingo night will include several rounds of bingo, prizes and snacks! All ages are welcome and registration is required. This will be the first in a series of themed bingo nights each month, with the goal of providing additional free, family friendly programming to our community.
— Preschool Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings April 2, 23, and 30 with Miss Jill at 10:30 am. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
— School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings April 2, 16, and 23 at 10:30 am with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
— Mahjong Club, Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. Stop in for a game or stop in to learn how to play with those who love to share their love of the game! No registration required.
— The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2-4pm. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from 12-8 pm, Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
