Registration open for Opera House 5K

The 1891 Run for the Fredonia Opera House will be on Sunday, April 26, at 9 a.m.
Registration for the ninth annual 1891 Run for the Fredonia Opera House is now open. The race is a 5K Run and Walk fund-raiser for the Opera House. It will be on Sunday, April 26, at 9 a.m.
The race starts and ends at Barker Common in Fredonia. Except for a small incline at the start of the race, it is a flat, fast course that is USATF-certified (#NY17080JG). It includes segments of Temple Street, Central Avenue and Brigham Road, as well as a portion of Ring Road on the State University of New York at Fredonia campus.
Runners will follow a lead car provided by local law enforcement. Walkers will complete the entire route on the sidewalk.
Medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in various age brackets and top three male and female finishers overall. T-shirts are guaranteed to those who register before April 14. Swag Bags will be distributed to all registrants.
This year’s race is one of the featured runs in the Chautauqua Striders Athletic Club’s Runner of the Year Series. Striders Athletic Club members receive a 10% discount on registration.

Advance registration for adults is $25; registration the day of the race is $30. Registration for those 21 and under is $15.
