‘Hearsemania’ coming to Fredonia on June 12

Attention antique car enthusiasts, historians and cemetery fans — “Hearsemania” is coming to Fredonia-Pomfret on June 12 for a special event.

“Hearsemania” features antique cars — many of the vehicles a funeral-related (hearses, flower cars and ambulances) along with other antique cars. There will be an antique car show with the vehicles on Barker and Church Streets next to Barker Commons from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.

During the car show, the Town of Pomfret will be hosting trolley tours of its Forest Hill Cemetery. The CHQ Transit trolleys will ferry riders from the corner of Park and Church streets to the Forest Hill Cemetery on Lambert Avenue for a guided tour. Riders will see the gravesites of many people who are important to Pomfret and Fredonia history, and hear their stories. The tours will include a brief stop at the Forest Hill Cemetery Chapel where there will be a tintype photographer for a unique photo opportunity before returning to the car show.

Attendees will also receive information about downtown restaurants and bars, in case they want to get something to eat or drink after the tour and car show. Mark your calendar for this “don’t miss event”.

Starting at $3.50/week.
