New Horizons Band concert Thursday in Forestville
FORESTVILLE — An outdoor concert, performed by The New Horizons Band, is coming back to Forestville on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 6 Cedar St.
This will be the third concert with Imagine Forestville and American Legion J. Carter Knapp Post 953 joining forces hosting and welcoming this most entertaining band back to Forestville.
“We are so grateful to not only have The New Horizons Band back for a third year, but we are also grateful to the American Legion who offered their facility to us again.” Imagine Forestville President Aimee Rogers said. “We couldn’t have this event without their help.”
New Horizons International Music Association is an international nonprofit organization that provides entry points to music making for adults, some of whom have no musical experience and many of whom were active in school music programs but have been inactive for a long period. “Many adults would like an opportunity to learn music in a group setting similar to that offered in schools,” retired band director Dr. Kate McKay said. “Most New Horizons Music programs provide music instruction at all levels from beginner to advanced.”
The event will take place rain or shine so please bring your own chairs and come hungry. There will be a concession stand offering hot dogs, chips, water, cookies and Lou’s ice cream wagon will be there too!
It will be a busy day in Forestville. Come first to the Forestville Farmers Market from 1 to 5 p.m. and then on to the concert at 6:30.
