Snow contest set in South Dayton

SOUTH DAYTON — Residents are encouraged to have some winter fun by entering the snowperson contest. The snowperson can be made from real snow, wood, metal, plastic, but cannot be a purchased snowperson. Be creative and have fun! The snowperson must be visible from the street.

The three categories are: funniest, most patriotic, and the largest. The first place prize is $25 and the second place prize is $15 for each category. There is no entry fee, Contestants must register their name, address, phone number, and category at Cattaraugus County Bank, South Dayton Super Market’s Customer Service, or Zollinger’s Restaurant.

Judging will be Saturday, Feb. 12 and prizes awarded on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at the gazebo. Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies at the Village Hall. There will be special giveaways for the children with a valentine craft magnet to make. Puzzles will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Village Library. This winter fun event is sponsored by the Village Library and the Depot Movie Museum. Have fun!
