‘Maybe I Do’ comes to Opera House

Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton and William H. Macy star in “Maybe I Do,” which will be featured on Saturday and Tuesday.

The next film in the Cinema Series at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is “Maybe I Do,” starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton and William H. Macy. It will be screened Saturday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Michelle (Emma Roberts) and Allen (Luke Bracey) have reached the point in their relationship to take the next steps toward marriage and invite their parents (Keaton, Gere, Sarandon, and Macy) to finally meet. To everyone’s surprise, the parents already know each other all too well – they’ve been cheating on their spouses for months… with each other.

The Collider calls the film “a decent romantic romp that is worth watching at least once – particularly if you’re a fan of the film’s star-studded cast.” The Niagara Gazette says “if the romantic comedy is, in fact, making a comeback, the good-looking ‘Maybe I Do’ is certainly keeping the ball rolling.” Rated PG-13 for sexually suggestive material and brief strong language, “Maybe I Do” runs one hour, 35 minutes.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 (adults), $6.50 (seniors & Opera House members) and $5 (students) the night of each screening. A book of 10 movie passes is available for $60 at the door or online at www.fredopera.org. For more information, call the Opera House Box Office at 716-679-1891.

The Opera House is equipped with assistive listening headsets for the hearing-impaired. Simply request one from any usher or staff member.

The Opera House Cinema Series is sponsored by Lake Shore Savings Bank. In addition, Opera House programming is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and by the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County and the Wilson Foundation.

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center is a member-supported not-for-profit performing arts center with a mission to “present the performing arts for the benefit of our community and region … providing access to artistic diversity … and high quality programming at an affordable price.” It is located in Village Hall in downtown Fredonia.
