The Geek Army Acoustic, M80’s play Music on the Pier
M80’s will perform tonight in Dunkirk as part of the Music on the Pier concert series.
The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series will host an ’80s MTV Tribute Night today, June 29 on the Dunkirk Pier. Sponsored by KeyBank, The Geek Army Acoustic will open at 5:25 p.m. and headliner M80’s play at 6:45 p.m. The concerts are presented by DFT Communications, Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and stage sponsor National Grid.
Hailing from Erie, PA, The Geek Army has been performing across the North Western PA region since 2005. During that time they have accrued several awards such as “Best Cover Band” in the Erie Reader, and achieved the Rock Erie Music Awards “Hall of Fame” status for winning “Erie’s Favorite Cover Band” several years in a row.
The Geek Army Acoustic covers a variety of styles with an impressive repertoire of songs including the 80’s songs you know and love.
Acoustic band members include Terry Wood (vocals) and Professor Grimes (guitar).
The M80’s is an MTV ’80s tribute band playing all the genres of the ’80s with original MTV music videos playing while performing the songs.
Known as the World’s Largest ’80s Party, the band members include Tyler Norton (lead vocals), Stoly (lead guitar), Jay Tarmino (bass guitar), Tracy Murray (drums) and Dave Belec (keyboards).
On Thursday pier concert dates, the pier will be closed to traffic at 2 p.m. Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the beverage tent provided by Arthur R Gren Company and Southern Tier Brewing Company. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace will also be open.
