‘Wonderful Life’ set for Lake Shore Center

WESTFIELD – It’s a Wonderful Life, a radio play returns to Lake Shore Center for the Arts.

What would the town of Bedford Falls have been like if George Bailey had never been born? This question and many more can be answered when you come to this play about the life of George. There is a moral in this story for all of us and Christmas time is a perfect time to relax and be entertained for a little while.

This fabulous production is one of the first offerings of Lake Shore Center for the Arts, going back to our beginnings as a traveling troupe. Before we had our home in the annex of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield we performed this show and others at many venues across the lake shore area.

This year we offer it again as a gift to the public to celebrate the Christmas season. We could not do all that we do without the support of our members and friends. Lake Shore Center for the Arts has opportunities for everyone to enjoy. If you haven’t been to see us recently you may be pleasantly surprised by our space and all the things we can and will do for you and our community.

Most of our original cast will recreate the characters of the story, many of them performing dual roles. Continuing in their roles are Doc Hamels, Kelly Mathews, Barb Johnson. John Daily and Libby Sciarrrino. Diane Scarpine takes on the role of Mary, wife of George Bailey. Rick Mathews breathes life to the character of Joseph and Joan Caruso brings her outstanding acting talents to many roles. Foley artist Karin Seager-Cockram returns with her bag of tricks. Returning to the tech table is the ever-talented Judi Washington.

This year the production is directed by Libby Cardy-Sciarrino with co-director Kelly Mathews in charge of set design and props.

Lake Shore Center for the Arts will be presenting this well-loved classic twice on Saturday, Dec. 9. The matinee is at 2 p.m. and the evening performance is at 7 p.m. Seating is limited so we advise arriving early. Follow us at www.lakeshorecenterforthearts.com for more information about this show and all the things we offer. We are also on facebook as Lake Shore Center for the Arts and Instagram as lscfta.

Lake Shore Center for the Arts is located at 49 South Portage Street, Westfield, NY
