The City of Dunkirk’s Music on the Pier Summer Concert Series continues this Thursday with Classic Rock Night on the Dunkirk Pier. The concerts are presented by DFT Communications with stage sponsor National Grid and production company Advanced Production Group (APG).
Sponsored by Wells Enterprises and AG Team, local band Two Towns start the show at 5:25 p.m. while headliner E5C4P3 – The Journey Tribute plays from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
Two Towns, a classic rock band based in Dunkirk-Fredonia, have been together for five years. Frank Beach (vocals/bass), Nancy Dietzen (vocals/drums), Deane Patterson (vocals/lead guitar) and Kristin Britz (vocals/guitar) are the talented musicians of the local band.
E5C4P3 – The Journey Tribute of northeast Ohio was formed in June of 1993. For the past 31 years, they have paid tribute to one of rock history’s most beloved bands performing for hundreds of thousands of fans.
E5C4P3 is still known today as the original and best Journey tribute band to ever exist. The band covers the music with a note-for-note accuracy that is second to none and performs each show with the high-energy excitement of a real Journey concert as well as visually recreating the essence of early 80’s Journey. Focusing on the “Steve Perry era”, E5C4P3 covers all the hits from “Lights” and “Wheel In The Sky” to “Separate Ways” and “Be Good To Yourself” including occasional surprises for all the die-hard Journey fans.
“We had them last year in Memorial Park and the huge crowd was blown away by the majestic sound coming from this Journey tribute band,” said Scott Mekus, Dunkirk Festivals event specialist. “The group’s stage presence is amazing and we’re so glad we were able to book them again for Dunkirk.”
The pier will be closed to traffic at 2 p.m. on Thursday until Friday morning at 8 a.m.
Food trucks and other vendors will be on site along with the city’s beverage tent. Wells Enterprises will have complimentary ice cream until supplies last. The Dunkirk Boardwalk Marketplace and
surrounding businesses will also be open. Guests are reminded to bring a chair. Dunkirk event brochures are available from the boardwalk atrium or Dunkirk City Hall. A special thanks goes out to Roger Gloss of Atlas Comfort Cabins/Lawn Mowing/Enviro-Kleen Services for donating the use of the portable toilet located near the stage.
