Majestic Dance Teams win Division Championship in Chicago

The Majestic Competitive Dance Teams traveled to Chicago to take on some of the toughest dance teams in the nation.

The Majestic’s competed in four different age divisions and three different dance genres. The three-day event had teams competing in preliminary rounds on day one with the highest scoring teams moving on to finals and combining scores from the previous day to crown the winning teams.

The Majestic Tiny Jazz team placed third in the Jazz division. The Majestic Mini team earned First place in the Variety division and Second place in the Pom division. The Majestic Youth team earned First place in the Variety division and second place in the Pom division.

The Grand award of the weekend was the Majestic Senior Dance team earning first place in both Pom and Variety dance divisions and Won a paid trip to the National Dance Summit Championship in Orlando, Florida in May.

All four Majestic dance teams will be competing at the Summit and hope to bring back Championship trophies to Fredonia.

The Majestic’s competitive dance program is sponsored by The Collage Performing Arts Center. The teams are directed by Marci Williams-Hadley and team Captain is Senior Lilly Snyder. Dancers are trained in a variety of dance styles and perform in annual shows in addition to competitions, parades and community events.
