Pedro and the Smooth Cats to perform on Cassadaga Floating Stage

CASSADAGA – The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga is excited to welcome the public to its Summer Concert Series! Concerts are held on the Floating Stage on Cassadaga Beach, Park Avenue.

On Sunday, June 29, at 4 p.m. on the gazebo, John Morse will start things off. From Portland, NY, John attended Crane School of Music and holds a degree in Applied Piano from SUNY Fredonia School of Music. He spent his early career touring and currently is a church organist, accompanist and performs at local taverns. John enjoys playing and singing all the oldies that we love. You will want to sing along with this piano man.

From 5-7 p.m., Pedro and the Smooth Cats will be playing on the Cassadaga Floating Stage! This local band covers country rock, blues, swing, R&B and Jazz. Pete (Pedro) Howard, has gained recognition regionally and nationally as a songwriter and performer. His credits include the Buffalo Music Award for top sax player and his original songs have been featured in soundtracks for TV and film. Guitarist Greg Lay led the renowned Native American blues band “Red Rhythm” for over 30 years. Jeff White is a veteran bass player and songwriter who has worked with iconic Jamestown bands.

It will be an evening of top notch music and you can come by boat or bring a chair and sit on shore. Lifeguards will be on duty if anyone cares to swim. Cassadaga Beach also boasts a playground, tetherball, beach volleyball, picnic tables and grills. Cassadaga Youth Sports will be selling hotdogs, chips and drinks or you can bring a cooler. There may be other vendors as well.

Beach parking is limited, so if you are able and willing, please park at the nearby church, library or firehall. In case of inclement weather the performances will be held at the Cassadaga Fire Hall on 22 Mill St or the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280 on 228 Maple Ave. Call 716-665-8855 if you have any questions.

Starting at $3.50/week.
