Band plans Sheridan performance

On Wednesday evening, the New Horizons Band of Western New York will take attendees on a musical tour of Europe as part of an outdoor community concert to be held on the lawn of the Sheridan Town Complex, located at 2773 Route 20 in Sheridan. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the band will perform inside the recently renovated hall at the back of the complex. A variety of music will be presented in addition to the featured “Little Europe,” under the direction of Dr. Katherine McKay, Professor Emeritus at SUNY Fredonia. The New Horizons Band welcomes “mature adults” who wish to resume playing an instrument that they haven’t played in a long time, or to learn a new instrument with the coaching and lessons provided by SUNY music students. Please talk to any of the band members at the concert about joining. Bring your lawn chairs, relax, listen to the music, and enjoy refreshments available for purchase by the Sheridan Historical Society and baked goods for sale by the Sheridan VFW Auxiliary – with a touch of European flair.
