Music at Point continues tonight
Evan Laedke, pictured on left, and Tim Britt will take the stage at Dunkirk’s Music at the Point tonight from 6 to 8 at Point Gratiot.
The seventh week of Dunkirk’s Music at the Point Sunset Series is set today with musicians Tim Britt and Evan Laedke from 6 to 8 p,m. at Point Gratiot. The event is sponsored by Southern Tier Environments for Living, Inc. (STEL) and Lawley Insurance.
Tim Britt, of Buffalo, is a self-taught musician who got his start playing as a teen in the local clubs of his hometown of Whitesboro. With an engaging personality, and vocals that range from a soft vibrato to a raspy rocker, from an operatic falsetto to a mellow baritone, this solo acoustic act continually proves he can entertain a vast audience, and never fails to impress.
His original songs have an appealing style of honesty with bluesy undertones, and range from love songs, to contagious crowd sing-alongs.
Laedke began his musical journey at the age of 14 with Hammond B3 lessons taught by Buffalo’s own local blues legend, Jim Wozniak. One year later he was playing keys with the legendary, Willie May Band (a Buffalo Music Hall of Fame recipient) and continues to play with them today.
Together they form a duo that brings years of unique musical experience together to provide an unforgettable show. Decades of your favorite songs, no genre untouched, catchy originals, foot stomping rhythms, all things you’ll get from a night with Tim and Evan.
The last Music at the Point performance is the School of Rock House Band on Aug. 27 for STEL’s sponsor V.I.P. night.
Visitors are reminded to bring a chair, snacks and refreshments and enjoy the sunsets and music at Point Gratiot. An ice cream truck will also be selling treats that evening.
