Local author Rebecca Cuthbert will be speaking Oct. 30 at Anderson-Lee Library.
SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library, located at 43 Main St. has announced programming for the month of October. Programs are free and open to the public. Registration is required unless stated otherwise, to ensure enough seating and materials for all patrons attending the program.

The library will be closed Monday, Oct. 13 for Columbus Day.
Pre-school Storytime for children ages 2-5 on Thursday mornings Oct. 2, 9, 16, and 30 with Miss Jill at 10:30 a.m. Children will participate in reading, singing, rhymes and fun crafts. Pre-registration is requested.
School Age Storytime for children 6-12 years of age on Thursday mornings Oct. 2, 9, 16, and 30 at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Amy. Stories, crafts, games, and other activities are offered. Pre-registration is requested.
Lego Club for ages 5-12 Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. Build the challenge of the day, pick a challenge card or free build. Your choice! Limit of 10 children and pre-registration is required.
Paper Ornaments, Saturday, Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. All ages are invited to create a paper ornament. Choices will be a pumpkin, smile face, world, heart, or leaf. Please register by Oct. 3. Your choice of design will be asked for when you register.
Adult Coloring, Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:30pm. We have received a wonderful bundle of Mythographic adult coloring books with titles such as “Dream Garden,” “Frozen Fantasies,” “Aquatics,” Odyssey,” “Voyage,” and more! Adults ages 18 and older are invited to join us for an hour of relaxation, quiet music, tea, and coloring.
Annual Trick or Read Halloween Party, Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. Come in costume, play games, craft, read stories, and receive treats! This is a family friendly, non-scary event for all ages. Please register.
Create a Luminary, Saturday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. We will upcycle Oui yogurt jars into luminaries, using a variety of materials, such as dried flowers, stickers, temporary tattoos, and more. For ages 5 and older and registration is required.
Author Reading and Ghost Story Talk with local author Rebecca Cuthbert, Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Join us for this very special event! Cuthbert has honored our library by dedicating her latest work “The Hauntings Back Home” to our library! Come hear a ghost story and engage in conversation with our very special guest. Refreshments, Q&A and book signing. Registration is appreciated. Best for those 18 and older.
The Secret Society of the Twisted Stitchers: Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m., except for Friday Sept. 12. This club is for all who love handiwork. Ages 10 and older and all skill levels are welcome! Please bring your own supplies. Just getting started? For knitting, bring size 10/10.5 bamboo needles and a light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). For crochet, bring a size H hook and light-colored worsted weight yarn (#4). Come and learn or come and work on a project with others who love to knit, crochet, embroider, quilt etc.! No registration required. You do not need to commit to each week to attend. Please stop in and stitch!
Anderson-Lee Library is open to the public Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday noon to 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is closed Wednesday and Sunday.
