Choral concert to feature alumni Grammy winner
The Fredonia School of Music’s spring choral concert on April 29 will feature the Chamber Choir, the College Choir and guest choir the Westwinds, under the direction of alumnus Kent Knappenberger.
The Fredonia School of Music will present a choral concert on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Rosch Recital Hall at the State University of New York at Fredonia.
In addition to the Fredonia Chamber Choir and the Fredonia College Choir and three student con-ductors, the concert will feature guest choir the Westwinds, a high school ensemble from West-field Academy and Central School.
The Westfield choir is under the direction of Fredonia alumnus Kent Knappenberger (’87 Music Education). Knappenberger was the winner of the inaugural GRAMMY Music Educator Award in 2014.
The Westwinds will be performing pieces written by retired SUNY Fredonia professor Dr. Keith Petersen in 1995 for the Fredonia Chamber Singers.
The concert is free and open to the public.
