Members of the Friendship Baptist Church Memorial Scholarship Committee recently selected church members Alexis Whitfield (left) and Tazmara Doctor (right), both residing in Rochester, as recipients of a $200 scholarship, respectively. Whitfield and Doctor will be attending Herkimer County Community College. The school, also referred to by locals as “Harvard on the Hill,” is a two-year community college located in the village of Herkimer.
