County premiere of the choral work ‘Requiem for the Living’ by Dan Forrest planned for Tuesday

The county premiere of the choral work “Requiem for the Living” by Dan Forrest will be presented Tuesday 1 at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St. Fredonia.

Phillip McMullan will direct the Episcopal Church choir, along with additional singers and soloists Lucille Horn, Sydney Conrad, Nicholas Farrauto. The singers will be accompanied by Trinity Church organist John Patrick Murphy and guest instrumentalists from SUNY Fredonia.

This new work premiered nationally in 2013 but has rapidly become a favorite of audiences and choral organizations. Its haunting opening notes and soaring melodies will move the listener deep in their soul.

Come and remember those who have passed this All Saints Day and rejoice in those who are alive. For a requiem it is a short work (approximately 45 minutes), but is complete musically and spiritually.

A reception for listeners and participants will be held in Garland Hall at the back of the church following the event.

There will be an opportunity at the entrance to the church to make a free-will offering, which will be used to fund further concerts of this nature and local organizations aiding victims of domestic abuse.

Starting at $3.50/week.
