Church on the Beach

Park Church Cassadaga is holding its worship service Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on the Cassadaga Beach on Park Avenue. The public is welcome to come.

Mission/Outreach hosting final day of yard sale today

The Mission/ Outreach Committee of the First Presbyterian Church of Westfield will host a yard sale at the home of Marjory Fritz at 48 Elm St., Westfield. The event will take place today. Hours for the sale are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is the same weekend as the Westfield Arts & Crafts Show and 48 Elm St. is right across the street from Moore Park.

All funds raised will be used for on-going mission causes throughout the year.

The sale features only nice, high-quality items. The committee hopes everyone will stop by and help to continue its mission projects. The committee’s motto is “Mission is the Heart of the Church.”

Trinity Lutheran Church indoor yard sale planned for Aug. 4

Trinity Lutheran Church, through a generous donation from Thrivent Financial, will be holding its annual indoor yard sale on Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Silver Creek village-wide sales. Featured are a large selection of books, greeting cards, craft materials and a heavenly variety of household items sold at devilishly low prices.

In addition, the men of the church will be sponsoring a Sahlen’s hot dog sale starting at 10 a.m. A value meal including a hot dog, bag of chips, bottle of water and bag of cookies will be sold for $3. A hot dog will cost $1.50.

In appreciation for their dedication, the Silver Creek Emergency Squad will receive 50 percent of the yard sale proceeds and 100 percent of the hot dog sale proceeds. The church is located at 15 Porter Ave. in Silver Creek.

Church to sponsor ‘Kids Summer Fun Night,’ VBS

The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield will host four special nights for kids ages 3 through 11 at the church. On Sunday July 29 from 6-8 will be “Kids Summer Fun Night” with the inflatable obstacle course, soccer darts, refreshments, and video. The next three nights, Monday July 30 through Wednesday Aug. 1, from 6-8 p.m., will feature Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme is “Game On!” featuring Bible lessons, crafts, refreshments, sports, prizes and much more. All kids are welcome.

Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Roy Montgomery. This week’s medium is Janice Dreshman. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Universal Unity of Spirit hosts guest speaker

Universal Unity of Spirit’s guest speaker, Sunday, July 29, at the 11 a.m. service, is Rev. Susan Dinsmore, from Ontario, Canada. Her topic is “The Diversity of Understanding Spirit.” Rev. Dinsmore has received training in mental and physical mediumship and is recognized as a gifted clairvoyant, healer and trance lecturer and will be available for private consultations by appointment. She has organized and participated in fund-raisers for numerous charitable and community initiatives and serves as a hospice volunteer. All are welcome to attend the interfaith service which includes, meditation, healing, lecture, refreshments and fellowship at 89 N. Main St. (Route 60), Cassadaga. Vacation Bible School planned at Collins Friends Meeting

Vacation Bible School is planned at the Collins Friends Meeting, 2345 Main St., Collins on Aug. 1 and 2 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 4 through 11. VBS will feature Bible verses, sharing, crafts, snacks, a scavenger hunt, singing and fun. Phone the church at 377-2206. All are welcome.

Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School

The Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School theme this year is “Weird Animals.”

Classes will take place on Mondays, Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St. Ripley from 4 to 6 p.m.

Special Mass service to be held

“A Celebration of the Angels,” a very special Mass to honor Northern Chautauqua Catholic School Angel Benefactors will be held on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church at 1032 Central Ave. in Dunkirk.

Vacation Bible School will be held at Laona U.M. Church

He’s Our Rescuer!! Vacation Bible School will be held at Laona U.M. Church located at the corner of Wilson Road and Porter Avenue, Fredonia on Aug. 6 to 10 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. each evening.

Children ages 3 years through 6th grade are invited to come and learn about the ways that God rescues His children. Each night will include songs, games, crafts, snacks and a story from the Bible showing the wonder of God’s amazing love.
