Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School

The Ripley United Methodist Summer Vacation Bible School theme this year is “Weird Animals.”

The last class will take place on Monday at the Ripley United Methodist Church, 84 W. Main St. Ripley from 4 to 6 p.m.

Faith Formation program in September

The faith communities of St. Joseph Church, Gowanda and St. Mary’s Church, Cattaraugus will begin their fall 2018-19 semester in September with Parent/Student Meetings. The registration packets have been mailed. If you did not receive one, please pickup a packet available at all church entrances. For more information or to pick up a packet please call the rectory at 532-5100.

Church to give away free food, school supplies

On Sunday, Aug. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. in downtown Sinclairville, Park Church will hold its annual I Am Free event. Children who live in the Cassadaga Valley community will be given free school supplies, clothing vouchers and free haircuts.

For those that don’t have children, there will be plenty to do as well. There will be free food, games for adults, and children alike, classic cars and a dunk tank!

For those interested, there will be an outdoor church service starting at 10:30 a.m. Both events take place in Minckler Commons.

Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Jewel Rozanski. This week’s medium is James Flynn. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Universal Unity of Spirit

Rev. Jay Cooke, co-pastor of Universal Unity of Spirit will speak on “GOD’S TWO FAVORITE WORDS” at the 11. a.m. Sunday service, Aug 26. Bring A Dish To Pass Picnic follows the service and everyone is welcome to attend the interfaith service at 89 N. Religious education news at St. Joseph Church, Fredonia

Judy Bradley, Director of Religious Education for St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia announces that the Registration forms for the St. Joseph Faith Formation Program will be mailed out the week of Aug. 26.

Journey, an Inter-generational Faith Formation Program offered for Kindergarten-age children to adults at St. Joseph Parish will begin Sept. 23 after the 11:15 a.m. Mass.

Irving Church plans breakfast and bake sale

Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church will hold a breakfast and bake sale on Saturday, Sept. 1 from 9 to 11 a.m., at 12672 Route 438, Irving. The cost is $6.50 per breakfast. There will also be a Chinese auction.

Ripley UMC breakfast Sept. 8

Ripley United Methodist Church, located at 84 W. Main St., Ripley, is hosting an All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $7 for “all you can eat.”

This month’s breakfast will benefit the Quincy Cemetery Association.
