St. Rose of Lima hosting 35th annual lawn fete Sunday

Good old-fashioned family fun. This year’s St. Rose of Lima lawn fete and chicken barbecue is coming Sunday, Aug. 5, from noon until 6 p.m. in Forestville.

All of the popular attractions will be back again for the carnival’s 35th year, including children’s games, pony rides, and Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue. Music, theme baskets, a refreshment tent and bake sale, and a grand prize drawing are all back by popular demand. Chances to win $1,000, $500 or $100, a handmade quilt, and dozens of other prizes contributed by area businesses and artisans cost $1 a ticket or six for $5.

The Rev. Dan Fiebelkorn, pastor of the Faith Community of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, welcomes everyone to St. Rose of Lima church at 11 Center St. in Forestville. Mass time is 11:15 a.m. The community is invited to come for Mass and stay for a great day of relaxation and enjoyment.
