Park Church to hold ‘Come and See Sunday’

SINCLAIRVILLE — This week at Park United Methodist Church is “Come and See Sunday.” The church will be unveiling their plans for the proposed building expansion. Because of this, there will only be one service at 10:30 a.m. Also, Park Church Cassadaga will not be meeting and instead will be joining Sinclairville at “Coming and See Sunday.” Afterward there will be a pulled pork dinner. Unitarian Universalist Congregation speaker set

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Rev. Ronald Skowronski to the pulpit on Sunday, Sept. 16. Rev. Ron will reflect on the simple philosophy and life practices of Pope Francis and His Holiness The Dalai Lama. You may be surprised that not only do they have a lot in common as religious leaders, but also as common people.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in our immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life’s sacred journey. Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Denise Parks. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Christian Barber Shop Quartet to perform

The Conewango Valley UMC, located at 5517 Church St., Conewango Valley, will present a Christian Barber Shop Quartet on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. All are welcome for music and fellowship. For details, call 287-3322.

St. John’s UCC chicken and biscuits dinner today

St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold a chicken and biscuits dinner on Saturday, Sept. 15, serving 4:30 to 6 p.m., at 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Parking and the entrance are off Eagle Street. Call 366-0710 for reservations, which are highly recommended. Pre-sale tickets are $9.50 each and can be picked up at the church office. Tickets at the door are $10. Take-outs are available.
