Rev. Ron Skowronski to speak at Unitarian Universalist
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Rev. Ron Skowronski to the pulpit on Sunday, Oct. 21. In his reflection, "Bridges or Walls", Skowronski will reflect upon the number of homeless people in our own country and the number of displaced persons worldwide. How did this dual crisis begin? Is there any progress in stemming it? Where do we as UU's stand in order to be part of the solution? Join us as we reason this out together.

Church of the Living Spirit
This week's speaker is Jewel Rozanski. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.
Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Church to hold open house on building project Sunday
SINCLAIRVILLE -- Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville is in the process of a $2 million building project. Because of this, the church is holding an open house on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 2-3 p.m. at 49 Sinclair Dr., Sinclairville.
The goal of the building project is to create space for youth, adult discipleship, community usage and recreation, and provide affordable childcare to the community.
At the open house, church leaders will share the vision for Project 2020 in a town hall style meeting. Afterward, there will be a time for questions and answers. People in the community are invited to come and learn more about the church and how you can have an active role in the project.

St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church meditation for women set for Monday
Can you believe it! We're at the start of the changing season - autumn and winter, with all the adjustments to be made, will soon be here.
Another thought as we prepare "Our seasons change but God never changes."
A short evening of meditation for women about the changing seasons (and changes in the world and in our lives), will be held at St. John the Baptist (Episcopal) Church. This will take place on Monday, Oct. 22, starting with a potluck meal, continuing with the topic, and ending with a craft.
In this ever-changing world, it will be reassuring to delve into and fully understand the stability that God can bring into our lives.
All women are invited to this event, which will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Bring a dish to pass and even a friend or two to this spiritual evening.

Portland Congregational Church chicken and biscuit dinner set
The Portland Congregational Church will hold a chicken and biscuit dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. or sold out at 8649 Church St., Portland. The costs are adults: $9, and children 10 and under: $6. The menu includes chicken, biscuits and gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable, salad, dessert and beverage. The site is handicapped accessible.
St. John's United Church of Christ annual vendor/craft show and bake sale set
St. John's United Church of Christ will hold its 22nd annual vendor/craft show and bake sale on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Use Eagle Street parking.
Harvest is Plentiful Concert planned for Nov. 4
The 28th Annual The Harvest Is Plentiful Concert will be held at SS Columba/Brigid Church 75 Hickory St. (corner of Hickory and Eagle streets) Sunday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m.
The concert is a joint effort of St Joseph Church's Voice and Handbell Choirs from Fredonia and SS Columba/Brigid Church's Gospel Choir from Buffalo. It consists of many different styles of music with a variety of instrumentation. It has proven to be a very energetic and uplifting evening for the whole family. Free admission!
There will be bus transportation available to attend the concert. Bus tickets can be purchased after Sunday Masses at St. Joseph Church, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia, as well as during office hours, or by contacting Lucy Hurley at 673-1781. Cost is $10 for adults, children can ride for free or a small donation if possible to help to pay for the cost of the bus.
