Rev. George Buchanan to speak to Unitarian Universalist
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Consulting Minister George Buchanan to the pulpit on Sunday, Oct. 14. Buchanan will speak on “The Perennial Wisdom of Alan Watts.” Watts encourages us to approach our lives playfully and with joy. In a current moment that seems very grim and fraught with danger to many of us, Buchanan will reflect on how we can make any use of his playful approach to serious questions.
Sunday we will also Share the Plate with The Main Thing neighborhood revitalization project in Dunkirk. Our gifts will help fund a plaque to dedicate the new park at Sixth and Main streets in memory of the late Janice D. Slaton. Read about her exemplary life of service at https://tinyurl.com/jdslaton. 100 percent of the non-pledge money received in the collection plate on each Share the Plate Sunday is given to the chosen agency.
