Buchanan to Speak to Unitarian Universalist Congregation

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is pleased to announce that the Rev. George Buchanan will speak on Sunday, Jan. 13. As we worship together, Buchanan’s sermon, “We need to Talk!”, will question what happens when a conversation with a friend goes awry. Is our friendship damaged? Maybe it makes sense to ask for a further conversation, hoping to heal and restore. Using drama and music to deepen our understanding, we will work to explore this common social and spiritual puzzle together.

We will also Share the Plate with Labyrinthine-Ways-Peace -Park, located at 3829 Franklin Ave, East, Town of Dunkirk. Since the year 2000, the Peace Park has nurtured personal peace and encouraged the study and practice of nonviolence. Peter Miller encourages young children to experience the Outdoor Musik Kindergarten for summer nature-music experiences, including wind chimes and triangles. He hopes to add a xylophone or tonal tube instrument in summer 2019 and more in 2020.

One hundred percent of the non-pledge money received on Share the Plate Sunday will be given to a chosen agency that aligns with our UU Principles. Please make your check payable to UUCNC and indicate “Share the Plate” on the memo line. Of course, your cash contribution is also welcome!

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in our immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life’s sacred journey. Our worship services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Grange Hall, 58 W. Main St. Fredonia. Please call 679-7944, visit www.uucnc.org or visit our page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/uucnc for more information.
