Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Ed Williams. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Unitarian Universalist Church welcomes ministerial student Kristina Church

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes ministerial student Kristina Church to the pulpit on Sunday, Jan. 20. Church is a Candidate for Ministry and a seminarian in her second year of instruction at Meadville Lombard Theological School. Says Church, “Though the world in winter seems lifeless and dead, this is actually an incredibly fertile season. What will we bring to this time of dreams and visions? How can we create, and then live into, new ways of being in the coming year?” All are invited to attend and hear this sermon entitled, “Seeds of Change”

Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society plans chicken barbecue

The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will sponsor its annual January chicken barbecue on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The chicken will be prepared by Weidner’s Catering. The dinner will include mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable and homemade dessert baked by the ladies of the parish, coffee, tea, apple cider or iced tea. All this for only a $10 donation.

Eat in, take out, or the popular drive-through take-out will be available once again.

The Society invites the community to join the members at the Parish Social Center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. Serving hours are 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Tickets are available after every Mass and at the following satellite locations: Big Rick’s, Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk, Matt’s News on Third Street in Dunkirk, Fourth Ward Deli on East Doughty Street in Dunkirk and Tommy’s Barber Shop on Water Street in Fredonia.
