Unitarian Universalist Congregation welcomes Minister George Buchanan

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Consulting Minister George Buchanan to the pulpit on Sunday, Jan. 27. Buchanan’s sermon, “Commit to Respond,” will address the onrushing impact of global climate change. Buchanan says, “We already deal with sea level rise, drought, and extreme weather events. We expect more of this in our future, and perhaps worse. So how do we respond? Where do we find hope amidst the alarm and fear?” Today we will take some quiet worship time to reflect on our spiritual response.

Immediately following the service, the congregation will hold a finger food potluck. Bring something to share that does not need utensils to be served or eaten, and your own place settings. Had a busy morning rushing to church and forgot your table settings? Left the dish to pass in the fridge? No worries, we do have paper goods and there will be plenty of food. Join us!

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in our immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life’s sacred journey. Worship services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Grange Hall, 58 W. Main St. Fredonia.
