‘Babies Lives Matter’ event set for March 31

FLUVANNA — On Sunday, March 31 at 4 p.m. at the Fluvanna Community Church (3363 Fluvanna Ave.), “Babies Lives Matter” will underscore the call to be a voice for the voiceless in the womb. The purpose of the gathering is to mobilize and motivate the pro-life community to work redemptively, productively and effectively for the sanctity of human life in response to the recent legislation in New York to expand abortion up until the date of birth.

Speakers from the area will include Tim Hagberg with a thought-provoking presentation “What It Would Take to Make Me Quit being Pro-life.” Sharon Hamilton of Choose Life of Jamestown along with Jessie Bailey-Anderson and Pastor Aaron Bjork of the Fellowship at the Cross and lead host of Drash Ministries will share their role and call in preserving and advancing the sanctity of human life. There will be worship in music led by Randy and Cindy Anderson of Koinonia Fellowship and prayers of repentance and direction by area pastors and the director of The Better Place, Roy Miller.

A trailer for the movie “Unplanned” will be shown and a special video of Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood worker, whose life story is portrayed in the film will share her new found passion for life and a call to the church to be faithful, bold and unafraid. “There’s been surge and groundswell of opposition to our governor and elected officials in New York intensifying their continued attacks on the defenseless unborn child,” says Pastor Mel McGinnis of the Kiantone Congregational Church, coordinating Babies Lives Matter. He adds, “This event will call people to come to the defense of babies, begin or reaffirm their call and role in the stand for life, unite efforts for making a difference now and commit all this humbly to God for wisdom and guidance.” All are welcome to come.
