HeartSong to be at First Baptist

HeartSong, a student worship team from Cedarville University, will be at First Baptist Church-Dunkirk this weekend for several special events.

Saturday 6 to 8 p.m: Youth Night with games, food, live music from HeartSong. All Middle and High School students are welcome.

Sunday 9:30 a.m.: Worship Service with live music and encouraging testimonies from HeartSong.

First Baptist Church is located at 876 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Church of the Living Spirit

This week’s speaker is Norina Malakowski. Church services are held every Sunday in the Assembly Hall on Cleveland Avenue in Lily Dale.

Service time is 10:30 a.m. to noon and consists of a spiritual talk, a hands-on healing, a message demonstration, music, meditation and prayer.

Rev. George Buchanan to speak at Unitarian Universalist

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is pleased to announce that Consulting Minister, Reverend George Buchanan will speak on Sunday, March 24. As our congregation works through the chance to purchase a building of our own, Buchanan’s sermon, “Houses of Hope” will talk about the important investment of time and money needed to make this purchase happen. As we worship together, we will consider the hopes and dreams we might realize in a new congregational home.

Lenten Recital, with organ and oboe planned for Sunday

Dr. Ji Hyun Woo, Lecturer of Music Theory and Organ at SUNY-Fredonia, and Dr. Sarah Hamilton, Associate Professor of Oboe at SUNY-Fredonia, will perform an organ and oboe recital at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Day St., Fredonia.

The recital will take place on Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend; free admission.

Repertoires chosen have a Lenten theme, which include American songs such as Amazing Grace, My Shepherd Will Supply My Need, in addition to works by contemporary composers including Craig Phillips, Daniel Pinkham, and Augusta Read Thomas.

Blessed Mary Angela to hold Stations of the Cross for Youth

Blessed Mary Angela RC Parish will be holding a special Stations of the Cross led by the youth of the parish. All are invited to attend this special evening on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at St. Hyacinth’s Church, Lakeshore Drive East in Dunkirk. Any youth, ages preschool to high school are welcome to participate as readers or just walk the stations with a group. St Joseph’s RC Church of Gowanda presents Cabin Fever

St Joseph’s RC Church of Gowanda’s “Faith and Fun Bunch” will present a Cabin Fever Dance featuring Crash Cadillac on Saturday, March 30 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Gowanda Moose Lodge, 201 Aldrich St., Gowanda. The evening also includes raffles, a cash bar, and food is available. The event is open to the public.
