Dunkirk Elks 922 St. Joseph’s Table a success

The Dunkirk Elks Lodge 922 stepped out of their comfort zone and held their first ever St. Joseph’s Table this past weekend. Myra Thomas, Exalted Ruler, was very pleased with the results of the day stating, “we had good attendance for our first try and the food was great. No one left here hungry.”

The dining room was decorated with red tablecloths in honor of St. Joseph and a statue of St. Joseph was the center of attention. Chef Michael Porpiglia was the master cook, donating his time and talent to prepare the traditional meal. He was assisted by several dedicated Elk members and friends of the Elks. Every patron in attendance sought out a worker prior to their departure to pay their compliments. One of the best compliments was given by a gentleman who said, “I have been to many St. Joseph’s Tables in my lifetime and this one by far has been the best. The food was great and the hospitality couldn’t be beat.”

All of the proceeds will be used to benefit our local veterans. Thank you to everyone who supported the veterans by attending this event.
