St. Joseph Parish Faith Formation news

St. Joseph Parish Faith Formation, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia begins the 13th year of Journey or Generations of Faith. The Parish began Journey in 2006-07 to the present 2019-20 and involved participants of all ages to share a meal, learn and pray together. St. Joseph’s Parishioners were pioneers in intergenerational faith formation in this area and today the Diocese is encouraging this type of formation for families today in the parishes.

For the new year, there is a change of time for Journey. Journey will still be once a month, but will be in the morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the St. Joseph Center. Participants will be able to choose to go to Mass at 8 or 11:15. Sessions are once a month with each family receiving a home kit to use at home.

The theme this year is “The Liturgical Year – the Simple Facts.” Some of the topics will be Sunday Mass – Why Do We Have to Go?, Who Do We Celebrate?, It All Comes Back to the Eucharist. There will also be a Service Project in December.

The first session of Journey will be Sunday, Sept. 22.

Sacraments are still offered at St. Joseph. First Reconciliation will begin in October while First Communion begins in February. The new class for Confirmation will begin in late October after this year’s class is confirmed in October.
