Lisa Augustine-Glasier to speak at Unitarian Universalist

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua welcomes Lisa Augustine-Glasier as the speaker on Sunday, Jan. 19. Augustine-Glasier will speak on the subject of integrity. Her talk, “Integrity: Coming Back Home,” will include a short meditation and a teaching on the integration of body-mind-soul in compassion-based living.

Lisa Augustine-Glasier of Fredonia recently earned a Professional Certificate through the University of Vermont as an End-Of-Life Doula, a dream come true for Lisa, who is also certified as an Eating Psychology Coach through the Institute for The Psychology of Eating in Boulder, Colorado. She spends much of her day encouraging those experiencing grief, loss, anxiety, and disordered relationship with self and food, as she herself is on the journey through dysfunctional eating, body shame, and childhood trauma. Approaching healing holistically, Lisa teaches about the holy connection between body, mind, and heart and offers guidance in her on-line practice on her website, Energiegal.com.

During worship services, children may remain with their parents, or parents may send children either to the supervised nursery or to the independent play room for children who are able to engage in unsupervised activities such as crafts and games. Both rooms are adjacent to the main room and have large windows which allow parents and children to see one another during the service.

This month, the Social Action Committee is collecting women’s sanitary supplies for the Silver Creek Food Pantry.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua is a liberal religious community devoted to promoting individual spiritual development, working toward peace, liberty and justice in our immediate and global communities, and providing companionship on life’s sacred journey. Worship services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. at 222 Temple St., Fredonia. Parking for those who need close access is located immediately behind the building.
