Two students at Holy Trinity Church receive awards

Kelly Gullo

Two members of Holy Trinity Church in Dunkirk recently received awards from the Diocese of Buffalo at St. Joseph’s Cathedral.

Kelly Gullo, a senior at Fredonia High School, was the recipient of the “Hands of Christ” award. This prestigious award is presented to graduating high school seniors who have exemplified Christian leadership in their parish and the diocese, and is given by the Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

Kelly was nominated by Holy Trinity Catholic Church as a sign of their support and appreciation for her outstanding moral character, involvement in parish ministry, academic success and involvement in her school, along with leadership roles at Holy Trinity and the diocese.

Kelly is the daughter of Luke and Courtney Gullo of Fredonia.

Nicholas Wittmeyer, a senior at Cassadaga Valley High School, was the recipient of the “Altar Server of the Year” award. This award honors an altar server from each parish for his or her dedication and service to their parish.

Nick was nominated by Holy Trinity for his outstanding commitment to his parish. In addition to serving Mass, Nick also recently became a lector, and currently serves in both capacities at Holy Trinity.

Nick is the son of Kris and Nicole Wittmeyer of Stockton.

Both Kelly and Nick are graduates of Northern Chautauqua Catholic School.
