Blessed Mary Angela announces Masses, fundraisers
Blessed Mary Angela Parish announced its weekend Masses will continue on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the St. Hyacinth Church, 7 a.m. at St. Hyacinth’s, 8:30 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s and 10 a.m. at St. Hyacinth. Seating is limited to 100 parishioners at each Mass and Father Trella stated he will add more Masses if there is a need to accommodate all parishioner’s opportunity to attend Mass.
The parish is continuing with its bottle and can drive on Saturday in the Roberts Road parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon. The parish wishes to thank all who have already participated as it has collected nearly 7,000 cans and bottles to date. Remember, every nickel helps.
Tickets are on sale after weekend Masses and at Big Rick’s on Lake Shore Drive East and the 4th Ward Deli on Doughty Street for the July 1 Weidner Chicken & Rib Drive-Thru BBQ dinner, which will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. It includes a full barbecue meal, including hot apple crisp for dessert.
At the recent May barbecue, the parish paid tribute to the Dunkirk Police and Fire Departments as well as local clergy by providing them with meals as a way to say “thank you” for all you do. On July 1, the parish will honor the staff of Alstar Ambulance with a special tribute to the members of the Joint Veterans Council Honor Squad.
The parish appreciates the service the veterans offer to pay tribute to a fallen veteran. Proceeds from this dinner will be used to enhance the new bar room of the social center.
