Submitted Photo Safe “trunk or treat fun” will take place at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk Oct. 31 from 3-5 p.m.

Kids can come “Trick or Treating” at our Trunk or Treat to be held at First Baptist Church in Dunkirk from 3-5 p.m. October 31. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Cars will be decorated and parked “trunk out” around the church parking lot. Volunteers also dress up in theme costumes to match their cars. Kids can walk from car to car collecting candy and treats. “We want to provide a safe fun kid-friendly event after all of the activities and school programs that were canceled. Our church family is looking forward to serving the families of our community and sharing God’s love.” said Pastor Mark Massaro. Parking will be available on Central Ave. We will monitor and limit entry to keep people distanced. If you see a big crowd, please wait a little while and come back later.

This event will take place outdoors with proper social distancing to minimize COVID exposure. All of our volunteers will be pre-screened by taking temperatures and completing a health questionnaire. The cars will be parked at least six feet apart, children should wear appropriate face masks and they will wait in line – socially distanced. Plus, our volunteers will all wear masks and gloves while handing out pre-packaged candy. We checked with our city and county and state websites along with CDC recommendations for outdoor group events to develop our safety plan. We are doing all we can to make this safe and fun.
