St. John the Baptist to resume in-church services Easter

After an absence of in-church worship services, St. John the Baptist (Episcopal) Church will resume services on Easter Sunday, April 4.

The Easter liturgy and the celebration of the Eucharist, including Holy Communion, will take place at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Safety guidelines will be adhered to regarding seating and wearing of masks at all times , hand sanitizing and social distancing.

In preparation for the Easter celebration, a short Good Friday service will be held Friday , April 2 at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. St. John’s Church is located on the corner of W. Fourth and Lark streets in Dunkirk.

Tri-Church Parish Easter services set

Tri-Church Parish in Brocton will have services in the church on Good Friday at 7 p.m. and Easter Sunday at 10 am. Due to COVID-19 protocols there will not be coffee fellowship before or after the services. We do observe social distancing. Please wear a face mask to enter and exit the church building. Congregational singing is allowed as long as one remains sitting and wears their face mask. All are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Trinity UCC plans special Easter event

GOWANDA — Trinity UCC of Gowanda announces a special event to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter morning at a “Sunrise Service” on April 4. This service will be held on a hilltop and transportation to the service will be complimentary provided by a New York & Lake Erie Railroad train departing from the Gowanda Depot, 50 Commercial St., Gowanda at 5:30 a.m., April 4.

The Officiant will be Pastor Dave Gabel of the Assembly of God Church. The service will begin at sunrise and upon completion (approximately 30 minutes) the NY&LE train will return reserved guests to the Gowanda Depot.

Due to the need to limit capacity, guests must reserve a train seat by calling LOVE INC at 532-3541, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

COVID-19 protocols include mandatory mask-wearing while on railroad property.

Blessed Mary Angela Parish to hold Good Friday Services

Blessed Mary Angela Parish will be holding Good Friday Services at St. Hedwig Church on Doughty Street on Friday, April 2 starting at 3 p.m. Father Jan Trella would like to invite everyone to come and take part in the Passion of Christ. The church will remain open until 7 p.m. for private adoration and prayer. All are welcome. Masks are required and social distancing will take place.

Blessing of Easter Baskets scheduled

Blessed Mary Angela Parish has announced that there will be a blessing of Easter Baskets at both St. Hyacinth and St Hedwig Churches on Holy Saturday, April 3. Basket blessing at St. Hyacinth will be at 1 p.m. and at St. Hedwig at 2 p.m. All are welcome. We will follow all COVID-19 protocols of social distancing and the use of masks.
