Trinity UCC Gowanda welcomes Pastor Jess Kacalski

Pastor Jess Kacalski has been named Trinity UCC’s transitional part time pastor.

She started at the church at the end of January and has office hours Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kacalski has been coming to Trinity for many years, first as vacation pulpit supply then as pulpit supply over the last three years. She is a licensed pastor in the United Church of Christ.

She was born and raised in in South Buffalo not far from South Buffalo Mercy hospital. She has two sons, Craig and Michael, both of whom are married, and has two grandsons Colin and Conor.

Kacalski currently lives in the Buffalo/Amherst area.

The church that she grew up in is Good Shepherd Community of Faith. It is both United Church of Christ and American Baptist.

She attended the New York School of Ministry and graduated with a certificate in the Christian Leadership in November 2014. She was then licensed to the Western area shortly after that and has preached at different churches in the Western Area when the pastor would go on vacation or was sick.

Kacalski officiated at the closing of Christ Church, which was meeting in the chapel at Ebenezer United Church of Christ. Churches served are First Congregational Church of Angola when their pastor took sick, for about a year and a half. Then she served at St John’s United Church of Christ in Strykersville for about three years.
