Sinclairville Senior Citizens

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Senior Citizens meet once a month on the second Tuesday at noon for a luncheon and program in the Sinclairville Firehall Dining room. Diman Smith is the president, with Linda Parmenter as the vice president, John Sipos as the secretary and Charles Sylvester as the treasurer.

Recently the group held a luncheon for Flag Day and Father’s Day. Table decorations were provided by Diman and LuAnn Smith. There was a large variety of dishes of food, and all enjoyed the wonderful meal. Several commented by saying “thank you for the great meal today.” The invocation was provided by chaplain Diane K. Shaw.

President Smith announced that he had been appointed as the County Commander of the Sons of the American Legion. Special meeting drawings were held by President Smith. Recipients included Ray Wood, Diman Smith, Louisa Smith, LuAnn Smith, Doug Christian, Diane Shaw and Sipos.

Sipos read the minutes of the previous meeting, and Sylvester gave the financial report. Sylvester is planning one-day tours this summer and fall for the group. Sylvester has reserved the Stockton Firemen’s grounds pavilion for the summer picnic on Tuesday July 11 at noon. At the picnic, hamburgers and hot dogs will be cooked for all. All those attending are asked to bring a picnic dish of food for the luncheon. Martha Harmon and Terry Fox will provide the table decorations.

Plans were discussed in detail for the fall luncheon programs, and the annual Christmas party in December. The group will participate in the annual Sinclairville History Fair on Saturday, Sept. 9.

All are encouraged to attend the summer picnic in Stockton. A dish of picnic food and one’s own table service is requested. New members are always welcome.
