Mayville Senior Citizens

Mayville Senior Citizens met for their first meeting of 2019 on Jan. 3. The new officers took their positions: Janet Loomis, President; Darlene Barney, Vice-President; Bonnie Johnson, Secretary; Edna Brown, Treasurer.

We then enjoyed a wonderful tureen lunch. President Loomis called the meeting to order and conducted normal business. Dianne Goodrich read a couple little ditties and a very meaningful poem, then the Lord’s Prayer. The President followed with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Good Will chairman Mary Carlson listed the 15 members celebrating birthdays in January as well as the three anniversaries. The President thanked the kitchen committee for all the hard work.

The door prizes were drawn with the following winners: Ernestine Cruzado, Fran Miller, Louise Richie and Edna Brown. Bill Thornstrom, program chairman, introduced Robert Henry of Mayville, who entertained us with folk and country songs. We really enjoyed his guitar playing and the ballads he sang.

The next meeting will be Jan. 17. Pat Cook will be singing country music tunes. Join in for a wonderful lunch and extraordinary entertainment.
