Sinclairville Senior Citizens Hold St. Patrick’s Dinner

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Senior Citizens is a group of people who meet once a month on the second Tuesday for a luncheon and program in the Sinclairville Firehall Dining Room at noon. June Whipple is the president and welcomed all to the annual St. Patrick’s dinner. The blessing prior to the meal was given by Pastor Phil Shay. A variety of food was served to all, including a corned beef and cabbage special by LouAnn and Diman Smith. A wonderful meal was enjoyed by all. Festive table decorations were provided by Diane Shaw, Ann Hellman, and Diman and LouAnn Smith.

The officers for 2019 were recognized and Pastor Shay was elected to serve as the chaplain of the group. Mrs. Smith is the secretary and read the minutes of the last meeting, and Charles Sylvester is the treasurer and presented the financial report. Sunshine chairman Betty Wielgasz read the list of those celebrating a birthday and those couples having an anniversary. Mrs. Wielgasz said that she sent get well cards to those who were ill and thank you notes to those who served dinners. Appreciation was extended to those who volunteer their time to help out the organization.

Past president Diman Smith led all in the Lord’s Prayer and John Sipos led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. Future plans for meetings were implemented, and at the May meeting, the annual fun auction will be held with Smith serving as the auctioneer. The annual summer picnic will be held at the Smith family grove. At the next meeting on Tuesday, April 9, table decorations will be provided by Dianne Minekime, Jaymi Clark, and Diane Beard. The April luncheon will feature a ham, and all those attending are asked to bring a dish to add to the ham dinner.
