Mayville Senior Citizens
MAYVILLE — The Mayville Senior Citizens held a meeting June 6.
After a most delicious lunch prepared by the group, Janet Loomis, president, began the meeting. Dianne Goodrich told one funny story and one serious story and then led all in the Lord’s Prayer.
President Loomis led the Pledge of Allegiance. The secretary and treasurer reports were read.
Jeff Wagner, Senior Council Representative, explained if anyone wanted to attend a Senior Council trip, to let him know and he would give them the information needed.
Goodwill Chairperson, Mary Carlson, listed the June birthdays and cards sent. Tour Directors Loomis and Wagner stated there are 44 going to Soar High with the Birds in Pittsburgh on July 23. When boarding the bus on June 18 for Galeton, Pennsylvania, leave four empty seats up front! The kitchen committee composed of Louise Richir, Joyce Ayers, Dolly Gilbert and Nancy Cole was thanked.
Door prizes were won by Edna Brown, Nancy Cole, Jerry White and Bob Cole. Also, the president reminded all to sign up for subs that will be served at the July 18 meeting. Many stayed after the meeting to play bingo with famous bingo caller Wagner!
At the next meeting, June 20 at noon at the Mayville VFW, Walter Pickut, Contributing Editor for the weekly Jamestown Gazette will be sharing some of his favorite interesting stories as editor for this paper. Frankie from Office for the Aging will be at this meeting with tickets for the OFA picnic scheduled July 19 at Midway.
