Sheridan Happy Seniors

The first meeting of the Sheridan Happy Seniors for 2020 was held on Friday, March 13. It had been a long four months since the last meeting of 2019 in October. All members with birthdays from November to March had been sent birthday cards from the club.

The meeting was brought to order and started with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.” Chaplain Pauline Flitt then said the blessing. Cake, cupcakes and green jello were provided to celebrate the up coming St. Patrick’s Day. A party pizza from Ellie’s Deli was also served.

After a short business meeting, the activities began. First was the drawing for the Riles & Woolley give-away. Ed Newman was the lucky winner. The door prize winners were: Dee Ogden, Eleanor Lemiszko and Arlene Miller. Jokes were told by Flitt, Janice Snyder and Lorrie Newman. The last activity was “bingo” and almost half of the members were winners.

There was a lot of laughter and much catching up to do since the last meeting of four months ago. The guest of the day and hopefully a new member was Snyder. The ending of the day was celebrated by singing our song “Happy Seniors is our name”

Look for the next meeting date in the OBSERVER when it’s verified. Until then hope everyone stays safe.
