Dunkirk Seniors set coming events

The July Birthday luncheon was held at the Dunkirk Senior Center on Wednesday, July 28. The Dunkirk Senior Center will be having two trips in the month of August.

A trip to Seneca Allegany Casino is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 17. The cost will be $30 with a casino slot bonus of $25. Bus will leave at 10 a.m. and return at 5 p.m. Sign up in the Senior Center Office.

A day trip to the Carousel Museum in North Tonawanda, lunch at Pane’s Restaurant, Tour of Platter’s Chocolate and shopping at Market in the Square will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 31. This trip is full of wonderful nostalgia, good food, great sweets and lots of fun. The cost for the day will be $69. Bus leaves at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 4:30 p.m. Sign up in the Senior Center Office.

Big Bingo will be played today. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Light dinner will be served at 4:30. Bingo will begin at 5. Cost will be $10.

The Senior Center has started playing Dominoes. Mexican Train is being played every Wednesday at 1 p.m. Stop by the Center if interested in playing. There will be a class on the use of Tablets/I-Pads on Wednesday, August 11 at 11 a.m. Call the Center office to sign up for the class. On Aug. 18 the Center will be sponsoring a class on “Good Foods For Your Gut.” This class will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The birthday lunch will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25. Any member with an August birthday can attend. The cost to bring a guest is $5. Call or stop in the office to sign up.

Social time is held at the Center every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Bring a bag lunch and enjoy good conversation and 25 cent bingo. Pinochle is every Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise class is held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:00 a.m. Mahjong is held every Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Members can stop by and try their luck at the bottle cap guess. The July winner was Rita Gestwicki guessing just one bottle cap away from the correct number.
