Silver Creek Senior Citizens hold meeting

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Aug. 24 with 27 members and guests present. President Ed Newman opened with the pledge to the flag and everyone singing God Bless America. Pauline Flitt read “It Makes a Difference” and offered a prayer for those in Afghanistan, for our members, and for the meal. President Newman then welcomed Cathy Hebb back and visitor Marcia Stevens. Members enjoyed several different types of sandwiches and desserts.

The 50-50 raffle winners were Dixie Carlson, Teri Weinheimer and Ed. Winners of the gifts were Cathy, MaryAnn Seibert and Max Church. Lucky card holders for the wheel were: Ron Conover, Ruth Sheeler, Jim Spano (2 times), Lorrie Newman, Earl Sheeler and Sally Conover.

Bingo was called by Janice Snyder and the winners were: Earl (2 times), Ginny Chesbro, MaryAnn, Marge Church, Lorrie, Ron, Pauline and Cathy.

For next Tuesday’s luncheon, everyone is to bring their own brown bag lunch. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and water will be provided. The meeting closed with the club’s song “Young At Heart”.

The club meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at 1823 Lake Road, Silver Creek. Anyone wishing information about the meetings, please call 934-2170.
