Dunkirk Seniors plan spring trips

The March birthday lunch at the Dunkirk Senior Center will be held Wednesday, March 30. Any member with a March birthday is asked to call the Senior Center to register. The birthday person may bring a guest at a cost of $7.

There will be a Spring Party on Saturday, April 9. Doors will open at noon. A lunch consisting of a hot roast beef sandwich with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert will be served at 12:30 p.m. The cost of the Spring Party is $8 per member. Sign up in the Senior Center Office. The event is limited to the first 75 members.

There will be an Easter outing to the Broadway Market on Tuesday, April 12. Depart the Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. Stops will be made at the Buffalo Store, Chef’s Restaurant for lunch and Market in the Square. The cost per member is $60. Payment is due by April 5.

Complete All the Easter traditional shopping in one day. Sign up in the Senior Center Office. There will be a “Dyngus Day Celebration” at the Batavia Downs Casino on Monday, April 18. Depart the Senior Center at 9 a.m. for a day of Polish celebration at the Casino. Members will receive $15 slot play. Listen and dance to the Fritz Polka Band. Members will also receive a $10 food voucher. Sign up at the Senior Center Office. The Syrup & Slots Trip scheduled for March 24 is sold out.

Independent Health will be at the Senior Center on Thursday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer any questions that members might have concerning their insurance.

Big Bingo will be Wednesday, April 13. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a light dinner being served at 4:30 p.m. Bingo begins at 5 p.m. The winner of the February pill bottle guess was Mary Edwards, guessing the exact number of 44. Stop by the Center to make a guess.

Social time is at the Center every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Bring a bag lunch and play 25-cent bingo. Dominoes are played on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Advanced Tai Chi is Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. Mah Jongg is played Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is played Monday and Friday at 1 p.m. Exercise is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. The next two electronic classes will be held April 6 and 20. Sign up in the Senior Center Office. Follow the Senior Center on Facebook – events are listed as soon as they are planned. All upcoming events are listed on the front doors of the Center, in the newsletter or call the office at 366-7530 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for any information regarding the Center.
