Dunkirk Seniors look ahead

The Dunkirk Senior Center is planning several trips for the months of January and February. On Tuesday, Jan. 24 there will be a casino trip to Buffalo Creek Casino leaving the center at 9 a.m. The cost is $30 with $15 in free slot play.

On Monday, Feb. 20 there will be a casino trip to Batavia Downs, Oliver’s Chocolates and Kutter’s Cheese leaving the Center at 9 a.m. The cost is $40 with $15 in free slot play.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15 there will be a trip to Lucy Desi Museum, the National Comedy Center, Webb’s Chocolates with lunch at the Tropicana Room.

The cost is $100 per member. Sign-ups for all three trips are currently underway. Stop by the Center to sign up.

The Dunkirk Senior Center will be having a Super Bowl party on Saturday, Feb. 11. Stop by the Center to try your luck on the Super Bowl. Sign ups for the party will be starting Thursday. To attend the party you must have a ticket, a square and bring a munchie to share. The potluck luncheon will be Jan. 19. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. Only a few spots remain to sign up.

There will be a cell phone class on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. Stop in or call the office to register for this class. There will be a craft class on Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. Attendees will be making a wooden snowman. Stop in or call the office to register for this class. The office number 71 -366-7530.

Big Bingo is held the second Wednesday of the month. Doors open at 4 p.m. with a light dinner being served at 4:30 p.m. The January birthday lunch will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25. Doors open at 11 a.m. with lunch being served at 11:30 a.m. Any member with a January birthday is asked to stop by the Center to sign up for their birthday lunch. The birthday member may bring guests at a cost of $10 per guest which must be paid one week prior to lunch.

There will be a Valentine’s Day party on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with lunch at noon. The cost is $7 per member. Sign up in the Center Office begins Monday, Jan. 23.

Dominoes are played on Wednesday at 1 p.m. MahJongg is Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Pinochle is Monday and Friday at 1 p.m Exercise class is Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. Hand and Foot card game is Friday at 1 p.m. Tai Chi is Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. Social time is Thursday at 11:30 a.m. Attendees should bring their own lunch. Bingo is played at 12:30 p.m..
