SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Seniors met on July 28 with 19 members in attendance. President Randy Nurmi then opened the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing God Bless America. The group was pleased that former president Sally Conover joined the meeting and entertained with many jokes. Chaplain Pauline Flitt read "I praise the morning" and offered a prayer for the members and the food they prepared. Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of dishes.
The "sign in" winners were Harry Suski, Ruth Sheeler and John Czuba. The 50-50 winners included Al Wilson, Lorrie Newman and Jay Clark. Wheel of fortune lucky winners included John, Jay, Janice Snyder, Wayne Hotelling and Al. Lorrie called bingo and the winners were: Janice (3 times), Ruth (twice), John, Harry, Lorrie, Pauline, and Earl Sheeler (twice).
Tuesday the group will have fresh corn on the cob, and members should bring a sandwich or something to eat with their corn. The Seniors meet every Tuesday at 1 p.m., arrive by 12:30 p.m. Call Lorrie for information at 716-785-1074. Note: The group is inviting everyone 55 years of age or older to come and join in the fun.
